2016 Round 12 Seniors vs Kilcunda Bass

Phillip Islands finals chances are just about finished after their 9 point loss to local rivals Kilcunda Bass at the Cowes oval.

Kilcunda Bass dominated the first quarter, they took full advantage of the Islands skill errors and made them pay on the scoreboard adding 3 goals before Jack Taylor could get the Islands fort for the day. Kilcunda Bass kicked a late goal to go into the first break up by 17 points.

Q1 Phillip Island 1.3.9 Kilcunda Bass 4.2.26

The Island found their way back into the game with a goal to James Darcy but they couldn’t keep their accuracy going as they could only manage 4 more behinds for the quarter but luckily for the Island Kilcunda Bass could only add 2 majors to increase their lead to 21 points at the half time break

2016 Round 11 Netball vs IK

U/13

Final score: PI 8 def by Inverloch 19

Best: Sunday Brisbane and Gracie Dempsey

U/15

It was a tough game against a strong opposition. Inverloch have been unbeaten for the past three years and were too good on the day. To the Island girls credit, they outscored them in the final quarter but unfortunately it was not enough to take the win.

Final score: PI 14 def by Inverloch 35

Best: Ashlee Moxey and Charlie Ross

It was wet, cold and slippery at the Cowes oval early Saturday morning when the Bulldog pups took on the inform Inverloch-Kongwak Sea Eagles. The ground has taken a beating over the last week with heavy rain and hundreds of Auskick kids running around on Friday night. The pups have not played a lot of wet weather football recently and the conditions including the rain, which was coming in sideways and the soft and muddy ground only added to the challenge. 2016 Round 11 Seniors vs IK

The Island went down by just 5 points to Inverloch Kongwak in wet conditions at the Island

Inverloch started the game in control adding 3 unanswered goals before the Island scored their first goal through Beau Runnalls after 21 minutes. Inverloch held a handy 14 point lead at the first break

Q2 Phillip Island 3.2.20 to Inverloch Kongwak 6.4.40

Wasn’t great spectator footy in the third term but it was tough footy and scoring was restricted to just 1 goal for the whole quarter and this came through the Islands Jake Weir. The Island had closed the margin to 15 points with still a quarter to play. Read more »

2016 Round 10 Under 16's vs Foster

Goals – Zane Mattock, 1, Billy Taylor,5, Will Semple,3, Matt Freeman,2,  Nick Anderson, 1, Max Mattock,1,

Best – Will Semple, Billy Taylor, Max Mattock, Connor Thompson

The Phillip Island pups travelled to Foster Saturday morning to take on the undermanned tigers.  Foster were unable to field a side last week and were forced to forfeit their game to Inverloch-Kongwak. They managed to find 12 players this week but even with 6 top up players from the bulldogs they struggled and only managed 1 goal for the match.

The pups played some good footy but were hoping for a more competitive hit out after 3 weeks of no footy. On a positive note Will Semple kicked 3 goals on debut and looks to be a promising recruit.

The pups take on Inverloch Kongwak next week.
