2016 Round 12 Seniors vs Kilcunda Bass
Phillip Islands finals chances are just about finished after their 9 point loss to local rivals Kilcunda Bass at the Cowes oval.
Kilcunda Bass dominated the first quarter, they took full advantage of the Islands skill errors and made them pay on the scoreboard adding 3 goals before Jack Taylor could get the Islands fort for the day. Kilcunda Bass kicked a late goal to go into the first break up by 17 points.

The Island found their way back into the game with a goal to James Darcy but they couldn’t keep their accuracy going as they could only manage 4 more behinds for the quarter but luckily for the Island Kilcunda Bass could only add 2 majors to increase their lead to 21 points at the half time break

Kilcunda Bass piled on the pressure early in the third term as they added 4 goals to 1 up until the 20 minute mark of the quarter, from there the Island took over, adding 3 late goals to Michael Duiker, Jaymie Youle and finally Simon Seddon to go into the final term with all the momentum

The Island started to put a scare through the Kilcunda Bass camp as they started to dominate the scoreboard. Seddon added 2 unanswered goals and then Darcy with his second and all of a sudden the Island had dragged the margin back to just 9 points. The Island couldn’t find the couple of late goals needed to win the game, but tried hard all the way until the end
