2016 Round 4 Seniors vs Korumburra Bena
A dominant Phillip Island took out their second win for the season over Korumburra Bena by 114 points at the Korumburra Showgrounds
The game was almost done and dusted in the first quarter as Phillip Island piled on the goals and all Korumburra Bena could do was look on. Beau Runnalls opened the scoring with 2 goals in the first 3 minutes. These were followed up by Hayden Moore and James Taylor only a few minutes later. Jaymie Youle fired back to back goals for the Island as they continued to stretch their lead and it was only halfway through the quarter. Youle’s goals were quickly added to by Simon Seddon and again Runnalls, and to finish off, the aging Jake Weir, kicked the Island to a 56 to 0 lead at the first break

Korumburra Bena hit back early in the second with 2 goals in 7 minutes to let the Island know that they were still there. These were quickly squashed out by Moore’s second for the day and James Darcy’s first. Runnalls put through his fourth for the afternoon just before the siren to see the Island into the first break up by 67 points

The third quarter saw the Island get the yips in front of goal, they dominated play for the quarter but inaccuracy cost them greatly. Youle goaled early for the Island and Runnalls kicked 3 more for the quarter but they had 9 other shots on goal that they could only manage a minor score. Luckily Korumburra Bena could only manage 1 goal for the quarter which saw the Island lead inflate to 94 points.

The final term was a slow affair, the Island added 4 goals 3 points, including Runnals eighth for the day, an Korumburra Bena 1 goal 1. Seddon and Aaron Edwards were again dominant in the midfield for the Island and Michael Duiker had a return to form to see the Island take a massive 114 point win

The Island take on last seasons premiers Dalyston in the big ANZAC Day clash at the Kennel, in a game that could set the Islands season on track for a top 4 finish.
