2016 Round 2 Under 16's vs Fish Creek

Fish Creek vs Phillip Island
Final score: d 4.6 (30) v 4.4 (28)

------- Game Summary ------
The Pups made the trip to Fish Creek this week in what later proved to be the game of the day but they went down by just 2 points in the last quarter.
The first quarter started slow and slippery with Tarquin doing well in the ruck.  The pups worked hard and successfully held Fish Creek . Max worked hard across half back and Cale was strong at full back against tough opposition. Isaac was effective on the wing and Billy managed to score one major.

The second quarter was similar to the first however many sloppy errors and dropped marks cost the pups some opportunities which Fish Creek capitalised on. Bailey’s goal from a free kick was a stand out.

2016 Round 2 Netball vs Fish Creek

Under 13

A strong Island side, coming off a convincing win last week, had their work cut out for them against Fish Creek. Although a strong opponent, Sunday Brisbane and Bella Ross demonstrated strength and composure; combining well in the centre. A determination for the ball all game saw Gracie Dempsey grab intercept after intercept. Accurate shooting and quick moving from Chenice Kleverkamp and Maisie Vance allowed for the Island to be up by 5 at half time. Constant pressure from Harry Kalis and Jarrah White was applied in the centre throughout the game and the Fish Creek goalers had to constantly work hard because of the efforts from Makayla Morris and Taylor Kleeven. The final quarter displayed talent from the team beyond their years and although they went down by one in the end, it was a well fought battle. Super Proud!

Final scores: FC 17 def PI 16

Best: Chenice Kleverkamp and Gracie Dempsey

2016 Round 1 Under 16's vs Stony Creek

The footy’s back! The Phillip Island U16’s played the Alberton league’s season opener against the Stony Creek Lions at the Cowes ground on Saturday morning. The Easter weekend is traditionally one of the biggest days of the year and Saturday was no different with locals and visitors arriving at the ground early for a big day of football.

The pup’s line-up is largely unchanged from the team that went agonisingly close to winning a preliminary final last year. Zac Wagner has again taken up the reins as coach and Brodie Anderson has returned as captain. However, he was a late withdrawal from the match on Saturday following a call up to the Bulldog’s senior team. He watched his team mates from the side-line before making his senior football debut later in the day. He played on the wing, got plenty of the ball and proved that he was a deserving pick for the first round clash.  Read more »
